Springfield Elementary Tigers Donate 2,400 Items to Local Food Pantry

Springfield Elementary students recently showed the power of teamwork and generosity through their annual school-wide Food Drive.

Throughout the month of February, students and families were encouraged to donate non-perishable food and essential household items to support the Springfield Food Pantry. The drive, organized by Mrs. Smith and the Springfield Elementary Student Council, helped students learn the importance of helping others and supporting neighbors in need.

To build excitement and encourage participation, the school also hosted several dress-up days, including Workout Gear Day, Hat Day, Neon Day, and Rep Your Favorite Team Day. Friendly competition between school houses also helped motivate students, with the houses collecting the most donations earning a special Open Gym time.

By the end of the drive, the impact was incredible.

On Monday, March 2, Springfield Elementary delivered their donations to the Food Pantry. In total, approximately 2,400 items were collected, providing meaningful support to families in our community.

The Food Pantry expressed sincere appreciation for the generosity of Springfield Elementary students and families.

Food drives like this do more than stock shelves. They help students understand the value of compassion, service, and working together to make a difference.

A special THANK YOU goes to Mrs. Smith and the Student Council for organizing this year’s drive and leading the effort. We also extend our gratitude to the Springfield Elementary community whose generosity helped make this possible. Way to go, Tigers!
